“Crunch” time isn’t just for the leaves…"

Who doesn’t love Autumn? Cosy evenings by the fireplace; fluffy jumpers. We’d love to stay at home with a candle and a really good book, but Roo & Ralph have been very busy these past few months. Take a look at what we have been up to below!

NETFLIX POST-PRODUCTION SUMMIT 2022

Roo & Ralph were delighted to be involved in this years Post-Production Summit for Netflix, in partnership with Escape Studios. We delivered 6 sessions of online training, for 35 participants from various vendors in Spain, that encompassed the entire VFX Production workflow from script to screen.

We were delighted to welcome esteemed industry guest speakers to underpin the modules we had prepared.

Sokratis Synitos and Mark Spevick (Escape Studios) provided an insightful demonstration of common software packages.

VFX Bidding Producer Sarah Essam gave us a wonderful overview of the importance of client relationships and asking the right questions during pre-production.

Industry veteran, VFX Supervisor Sheila Wickens shared her insights about adapting to change during the shoot process.

Academy-Award-wining VFX Supervisor Sara Bennet shared anecdotes and useful hints and tips about working with clients, the client-side review process and the importance of sharing a vision with the Director.

The course was positively received by the participants and Netflix alike and we look forward to future collaborations. Special thanks to Berta Coderch, Carolina Garcia and Susana Casares for facilitating such a wonderful course!

THE SANCTUARY - DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

Things are taking shape nicely on Roo & Ralph’s first feature development. Celia Madrigal, Development Producer, stopped by the studio last week for a character development session. It saw Celia and Roo pinning the latest draft to the wall so they could see the “big picture”!

The team made some wonderful character-building discoveries as part of the process and are enjoying the process of incorporating these updates into a new draft, which they hope will be ready for distribution to key stakeholders by the end of November.
